Solution Architect Integration Job Description

General The Solution Architect (SA) provides leadership and facilitation of the Solution Architecture Process. The SA will be working with Enterprise Architects, Technical Domain Owners, and Implementation Teams to help drive the design and implementation. This role will lead the creation of (or completion) a Target Architecture Documents, Reusable Solution Patterns, technical tradeoff analysis, implementation plans for the efficient transformation of the current application portfolio, and architecture status and reviews as necessary. This individual will focus on Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Architecture, Integration Architecture, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Architectures focused on other third party and in-house Integration Business Process Management and Services toolsets and methodologies.This position is needed in support of a large migration effort – the replacement of a legacy Sales & Quoting platform with a new Salesforce/SFI based solution. This is a potential contract-to-hire position. The Solution Architect will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring best practices are utilized and providing technical oversight in the design, development, and implementation of a Salesforce/SFI(Vlocity) platform and its integrations (including peripheral non-Salesforce applications that make up the larger platform ecosystem)

  • Understand complex business requirements in order to help design solutions that will meet business needs in a scalable/supportable way

  • Developing integration solutions/strategies for numerous interdependent applications/systems

  • Provide technical oversight for the activities of an external implementation partner

  •   Advise on the organization and framework of a new Salesforce/SFI production support team, including platform administration, enhancement development, and DevOps/SDLC model

  •   Lead the creation of (or completion) of a Target Architecture Documents, Reusable Solution Patterns, technical tradeoff analysis, and architecture status and reviews as necessary

  • Serve as architecture lead and interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources as required

  • Mentor Lead Implementers (Tech Leads, Application Architects, Infrastructure Architects) in good architecture practices 

  • Define, communicate and document the patterns, standards and technologies for the enterprise Integration Architecture 

  •   Lead establishment of systems development protocols and/or selection of systems management approaches involving major company investments 

  • Consult with infrastructure development project teams to fit infrastructure to integration architecture models 

  • Collaborate in the development of standards for web-based applications and middleware 

  •   Work with project teams across the organization to develop and apply integration standards 

  • Communicate with users regularly to keep them informed of current technologies and system evolution plans 

  • Support Integration Architecture frameworks and align with Security Architecture frameworks

  •   Support Enterprise Architecture frameworks & performance modeling 

  • Provide solution architecture for multi-tiered applications into a high-availability environment 

  • Support all phases of established SDLC methodology

Solution Architect  Integration Job Experience

  •   Minimum of 3 years of solution architecture experience as an individual contributor with a strong focus in a large corporate IT environment leveraging shared infrastructure and shared services integration

  • Minimum of 5 years as an implementation with a strong focus in a large corporate IT environment leveraging shared infrastructure and shared services integration

  •   10+ years IT experience

  • Experience in estimating the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives

  •   Experience leading and conduct trade-off analysis between long-term and short-term impacts

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork and negotiation

  •   SOA principles and technologies, ETL technologies and tools, SOAP, XML, WSDL, UML, Platform integration

  •   Excellent analytical and technical skills

Education

  •   Bachelor’ s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested.

  • Master’ s Degree preferred
