MEDICAL SCIENCE WRITER JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision by the Vice Chair of Research and Clinical Research Program Manager, the medical/science writer works on various projects to support the attending radiologists, fellows, residents and researchers in the Department of Radiology. Responsibilities include editing of publications, grants and reports. Participates in providing assistance on grant applications in the form of consulting, writing, editing and organizing aspects of an application.
MEDICAL SCIENCE WRITER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Edit drafts of publications to be submitted
- Assist in consulting, reviewing, editing, writing and organizing proposals for investigators as requested
- Obtain, organize and update statistical information for use in grant applications
- Write sections of grant applications individually as needed/requested
- Reformat grant applications to meet the requirements of specific funding agencies
- Research and write institutional letters of support for grant applications
MEDICAL SCIENCE WRITER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years scientifically relevant experience
- Experience with Mail Chimp highly preferred
MEDICAL SCIENCE WRITER EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to handle varied projects, always maintaining an intellectual and professional approach
- Ability to work productively under time constraints and respect deadlines

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including medical and grant writing
- Outstanding knowledge in the English language
- Demonstrates excellence in writing lay scientific prose
- Knowledge of AP and AMA styles
